Notepad++ is a popular and most recommended text editor for a geek or a professional. Of course there are a lot of tools available to encrypt the files for windows, but not as simple as this. NppCrypt is a plugin for Notepad++ which is used to encrypt any selected text or entire text files to be unreadable to the user without the password.
Installation
Step 1: Download the Notepad++ and install the file.
Step 2: Go to this link to download the NppCrypt plugin from the list and extract only the nppcrypt.dll file to your ‘ProgramFiles/notepad++/plugins’ folder to install this plugin.
Encryption
Step 1: To encrypt the selected text, just select the text you want to encrypt and got to Plugins->NppCrypt->Encrypt
Step 2 : Select the kind of cipher encoding you like to choose and put in your password for decryption.
Step 3 : To encrypt an entire file, without selecting any text go to Plugins->NppCrypt-> Encrypt and type in the password and encryption cipher.

Similarly you can decrypt a file or selected text by entering your password of encryption.Cheers.
